INDIVIDUAL THERAPY IN THE WOODLANDS
You don’t have to be falling apart to know something isn’t working.
Maybe you’re getting through your days, taking care of what needs to be done, and looking pretty capable from the outside. But, something still feels off.
Maybe you’re overthinking everything. You’re more anxious or irritable than you used to be. A relationship is weighing on you. You keep saying yes when you really want to say no. Something from your past keeps finding its way into the present. Or maybe you can’t point to one particular problem at all-you just know you haven’t felt like yourself in a while.
You don’t have to know exactly what’s wrong before coming to therapy. That’s something we can figure out together.
Individual therapy for adults in The Woodlands, with online therapy available throughout Texas.
SOMETIMES IT’S NOT JUST ONE THING
You may come to therapy because anxiety has gotten louder, a relationship is wearing you down, or something happened that you can’t seem to move past. But sometimes it’s not that clear.
You may just notice that you’re more irritable than usual. You’re second-guessing yourself. You’re exhausted from trying to keep everyone happy. You keep having the same argument, making the same choices, or falling into the same patterns even though you’ve promised yourself you wouldn’t.
Or maybe life looks pretty good on paper, and you’re having a hard time understanding why you don’t feel better.
Individual therapy can help with things like:
- Anxiety, worry, and overthinking
- Stress, burnout, and feeling overwhelmed
- Depression or feeling emotionally drained
- People-pleasing and difficulty setting boundaries
- Relationship concerns and recurring patterns
- Grief and loss
- Life changes and transitions
- Past experiences that are still affecting you today
- Low self-confidence or difficulty trusting yourself
- Feeling disconnected from yourself or unsure of who you are anymore
You don’t have to fit neatly into one of these categories. Sometimes therapy starts with, “I’m not really sure what’s wrong. I just know I don’t want to keep feeling this way.”
THERAPY IS MORE THAN JUST TALKING ABOUT WHAT’S WRONG
You won’t find me sitting silently while you do all the talking and wondering what I’m thinking. Therapy with me is a conversation. I’ll listen, of course, but I’ll also ask questions, point out patterns, help you connect dots, and sometimes gently challenge you to look at something a little differently.
After more than 25 years as a therapist, I’ve learned that the thing bringing someone into my office is often only part of the story. Anxiety may be connected to years of feeling responsible for everyone else. Relationship struggles may have something to do with what you learned about relationships a long time ago. Feeling stuck may make a lot more sense once we understand the beliefs and experiences underneath it.
That doesn’t mean we have to spend forever digging through your past. We look back when it helps us understand what’s happening now, and then we use that understanding to help you move forward.
There isn’t one formula I use with everyone. We’ll figure out what you need, what makes sense for you, and what will actually be useful in your life and not just in the therapy room.
YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE “GOOD” AT THERAPY
A lot of people worry about what they’re supposed to say when they come to therapy. You may wonder where to start, whether you’ll say too much, whether you’ll get emotional, or what happens if you sit down and suddenly have no idea what to talk about.
There’s no right way to do this.
You can come in with a list of things you’ve been thinking about. You can come in knowing exactly what you want to work on. Or you can sit down and say, “I have no idea where to start.”
We’ll start there.
You don’t have to impress me, have the right words, or explain everything perfectly. My job is to help us figure out where to begin and, as we go, help you understand yourself and what you need a little better.
Come as you are. We’ll figure out the rest together.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
Starting therapy doesn’t have to feel complicated. You don’t need to know exactly what you want to work on, and you don’t have to decide today how long you’ll be in therapy. We start with one conversation.
REACH OUT
Request a consultation and tell me a little about what brings you to therapy. You don’t need to share your whole story. Just enough for us to get started.
LET’S TALK
We’ll talk about what’s been going on, what you’d like help with, and whether working together feels like a good fit.
WE’LL GO FROM THERE
If we decide to work together, we’ll start figuring out what you need and what you’d like to be different. We’ll take it one step at a time.
You don’t have to have the whole plan. You just need a place to start.
READY TO SEE IF THERAPY MIGHT BE A GOOD FIT?
You don’t have to be certain before reaching out. We can start with a conversation and decide together whether working together makes sense.
