Counseling for Older Teens in The Woodlands
Growing up isn’t always easy, especially when you’re trying to figure out who you are and where you fit in.
The teenage years can bring a lot of changes. Between school, friendships, family expectations, relationships, and preparing for adulthood, it’s not unusual for teens to feel overwhelmed, anxious, frustrated, or unsure of themselves.
Sometimes, even when parents are doing everything they can to help, their teen may feel more comfortable talking with someone outside the family.
At ESSENTIALS, I offer counseling for older teens, generally ages 15–17, who may be struggling with anxiety, stress, self-confidence, relationship challenges, or navigating life’s transitions.
My approach is warm, practical, and collaborative. I want teens to have a place where they feel heard and respected while learning to better understand their emotions, build confidence, develop healthy coping skills, and make thoughtful decisions.
I also recognize that parents play an important role in their teen’s life. When working with adolescents, I strive to balance their need for privacy with appropriate parental involvement, while discussing confidentiality and its limits from the beginning.
Is Counseling a Good Fit for Your Teen?
